Bathroom Vanities With Curved Doors

“Not My Father’s Vanity”

Cal Doors Curved Vanity A bathroom vanity can be, and often is, a simple thing, not much more than a box of some sort to hold the sink off the floor and conceal the plumbing. Pop a couple of doors on, and you’re done. Of course, if you want to put something away, you might find yourself yearning for drawers of some sort. And the wife, of course, is always looking for more room to store whatever the heck it is she stores. It’s the kind of thing where you almost don’t want to know, right, guys! But, be that as it may, it does help to have as much storage space as possible.

The problem for so many of us, though, is that we live in older houses, built before people began yearning for, and commissioning, large kitchens and bathrooms. So now when a body wants some of the things one sees on the many TV Home Improvement shows, one’s space constraints tend to rule it out.

The current item, though, is one of the most effective, and stylish, solutions to storage in a small bathroom I have ever seen. It’s made by Cal Door, which is a wholesale company, but we wanted to let our readers know about it because companies like Cal Door make it possible for any cabinetmaker with a vision to realize his ideas at a price consumers are willing to pay. Curving doors is a skill all onto itself, and people like my partner and I can do it—if you give us a little time. OK, make that a lot of time! But purchasing ready-made doors in a factory that are styled with such flair enables all of us to serve our customers in ways that no one ever would have thought of in my father’s day.

It’s interesting how it all works out. Some cabinetmaker with a flair for design thought up this piece, then contacted Cal Door for the doors he needed to complete his project. Cal Door, in turn, posted the finished result on their website. And one fine day, another cabinetmaker, using this design as a jumping off point, will design something different altogether. The Old Man was a hell of a woodworker, but he always worked alone. Modern technology has shrunken the world, and improved it beyond any dreams we might have had for the future in days past.
