“Color My Rainbow”
I don’t really see myself spending a lot of time writing about faucets, but every now and again you come across something you just know you have to share with people, and this week I came up with some items that I thought fell into that category. A “what the heck” and a couple of “now you’re talking.”
Gessi is, as you probably guessed, another European company that just happens to be on the cutting edge with things, especially those items intended to make of the bathroom an unbelievably pampering place. Par
t of the reason for that may be that Europeans typically get some five weeks of vacation per year, and I’m beginning to believe they spend it in the bathroom and end up getting back to work looking like prunes! But, hey, can you blame them?
I’m not really sure about the item at the top of this blog. Truth to tell, I wasn’t even sure what it was at first! Well, as it turns out, it’s part of Gessi’s new Rettangolo bathroom fixtures. The pictured items are actually a sink and a faucet that comes down from the ceiling, and just to make a more dramatic picture of it, Gessi lined up several of them. The water flow can be controlled with a joy stick or with a remote control, in case you should want to add to the wow factor. As to how practical this particular line is, well, I will leave that up to the reader.
Personally, I think it’s evidence of a company not afraid to push the envelope. When you do that, though, you sometimes tear it, but that’s a chance you take. But the other part of that is that the more you push at design, the more likely you are to come up with something innovative that finds acceptance, which bring
s us to the Mimi faucet line. There’s really nothing very standard about the sink and faucets featured here, but, still, it has enough of classic design attributes to make it something that would go well in either a man’s or woman’s bathroom, making it ideal for a shared space.
Finally, because I began this lamenting our lack of truly luxurious bathrooms, I thought I’d include a picture of Gessi’s Private Wellness multifunction shower systems. Again, it is actually several shower heads lined up for a dramatic picture, the better to illustrate spray selections that include rainfall, waterblades, and atomization. They also have a Chromotherapy option with a fixed or changing colored light. What is Chromotherapy, you wonder? Well, so do I…
OK, OK, Chromotherapy is a method whereby one uses color and light to balance whatever energy a person’s body may be lacking, be it physical, emotional, spiritual, or mental. So, does it work, you will now want to know, to which I can only reply, “Oh, MAN, are you asking the wrong person!”
