COYOTE GLASS DESIGNS FOR BATHROOM DESIGNS

“Home Cooking”
I first told you about the Functional Art Gallery last week, and I
get the feeling that I will be discussing some of their artists on this website for some time to come. What I most want to do with this website, to the extent that I am able to do so, is to introduce you (and me, because I have two bathrooms to remodel, and I am NOT going to replace those cheap tract home furnishings with more of the same) to new ideas, new concepts, new products, and new artists. That above all, I think, new artists. I have several times argued that those who make practical items for the home are artists, not artisans, and I am prepared to make that argument again. Actually, the Coyote Glass Design company—with their innovative bathroom designs—is doing their very best to make my argument for me.
I know what a plain old, average, run-of-the-mill bathroom vanity and sink is, and so do you. That’s why you’re reading these lines, right? You’ve been the se
arching the internet for some ideas for your upcoming bathroom remodeling, and you landed here. Man, why not go for it? Do something else with your bathroom, something that just absolutely blows your mind—while at the same time having a kind of logic all its own. That seems a paradox, I know, but if you elect to have your bathroom designed by an artist, you could very well end up with something just like that.
And, please. Don’t play safe. If that’s what you really want to do, then you should stay away from sites like this, and extra especially stay away from sites like the Functional Art Gallery because they do not deal in “production products.” Their quotes. But it’s a shared disdain, really. I mean, face it, you can go to any Home Depot and get all the standard sinks and vanities you can shake
a stick at. Or you can really shake it up, do something else, something wild, no, something artistic, something gorgeous. Which brings us to Coyote Glass Design, which is located in Salado, Texas, a small community just north of Austin.
I don’t in any way want to play big sophisticated California city (San Diego) in any way—heck, people in New York think we’re all quiche eaters anyway!—but it does seem to me that a company that is turning out such stunning designs ought to be located—oh, I don’t know—right in the heart of whatever could be considered the absolute hottest place for artists. Of course, on the other hand, I suppose an argument could be made that wherever Coyote Glass Design happens to be IS the apex of hot artists! In any case, it is fair to say that they have come up with the absolutely most stunning designs for a bathroom I believe I have ever seen.
And that brings us back to the point I most want to make with this blog. If you want blah, keep surfing the Internet. But if what you want for your bathrooms and your home is a functional piece that is also a work of art, then I really don’t think you’re going to do better than commissioning glass art from someone like Coyote Glass Design. They really cook.
