Hoesch Sensamare Luxury Bathroom

“A Comfortable Mind”
Sometimes the only thing we really need for a most luxurious bathroom is a touch of imagination. It is also a matter of approach, which I intend to show by introducing you to Hoesch, a German manufacturer that has reduced bathroom fixtures to their most elemental, and then rebuilt those elements into something that is at once simple and luxurious. It’s a concept that my wife likes to describe as simple elegance, and we always look to accomplish this in our own designs for our home. But then, as is so often the case for me these days, I find someone on the Internet who makes me look like a boy scout. I’m telling you, researching and writing these blogs is about as humbling an experience as I have ever had in my life!
But to return to what prompted this discussion, Hoesch takes as their directive something altogether different for a manufacturing company. Or at least it is certainly different from those who want to do nothing more than maximize their profits. We live in an age where the corporate mind has become something of an oxymoron. Really, all these people do these days, it seems, is ship the jobs overseas to someone who will make their products on the cheap, thereby ensuring a steady rate of return to the stockholders, while quality goes down the tubes. So it is most refreshing to see a company that starts not with a scheme for separating the largest possible amount of money from their customers, but, rather, a vision for how they may best enhance the lives of those who purchase their products. It’s more than a different view of business; it is a different view of life, really.
The Hoesch philosophy, for those who choose to pursue it, has been summed up by them as design meets wellness, which they have combined with the fascination of water. Goethe said “Without water there is no salvation,” and anyone who has ever spent any time in a spa—or even just taken a long hot shower at the end of a fatiguing day—knows full well the truth of that saying. Hoesch is quick to point out that one can best appreciate the truth of that statement in one of their spas, but as one who has and loves a spa, I can tell you that there really is no hyperbole in that statement. I cannot tell you how often the wife and I have plopped our weary bodies in the spa for half an hour or so and come back to the house feeling completely reborn.
Hoesch’s new SensaMare line, which we can define as water sense, is really water in all its sensations from cleanliness to restoration. The Hoesch Everclean Glass has been formulated to reduce the number of limestone and water deposits to produce a glass that is very nearly waterproof, which means, in turn, that the shower design is both stunning and sound, because who wants such a thing if it means constantly having to scrub the glass? It really is water sense or water sensation or water holy smokes!
It’s a bathroom design that positively begs one to take long, luxurious showers, in an environment that pampers the body and soothes the mind. In addition to fold-down wooden seats, the open and spacious shower offers six body sprays and a large oval shower head surrounded by Chromotherapy lights. They also have indoor spas, and those who have the room, and the wisdom to make such a choice, will never regret it. Really, SensaMare is well-named because this product line is just what it claims to be, a system for providing water that senses one’s need for restoration and acts accordingly.
It is a bathroom design concept that is both comforting and sensual. Looking at what Hoesch has achieved with this line of bathroom fixtures, I’m tempted to paraphrase the tagline used by a car manufacturer during the 1970s and say that SensaMare is a haven for the body and a comfort for the mind.
