Kudeta Serene Bathroom Designs

“Come Away”
I remember reading once of a person who said he preferred Mozart to Beethoven. The reason he gave was that, although he could see the hard work in Beethoven’s music, and very much appreciated the mighty works Beethoven had constructed, Mozart’s compositions always seemed to him to have been beautiful pieces that Mozart had simply found somewhere—almost like a shell one finds along the seashore. I bring that up because this collection of bathroom sinks seems to me to have just that sort of flavor to it. And yet, and yet, there is such a rightness to it, a perfection of form, if you will.
These concepts (it seems so prosaic to simply dismiss them as bathroom sinks and sink vanities, or even bathroom designs) are made by in France by Kudeta, and this particular line is called Bati, although I tend to think Bali Hai would have been a better choice, because it evokes images of an exotic maiden in a Hawaiian dress tempting us to come away to a different island. What the line does do, though, is tempt us into considering something different for our bathrooms, maybe even our entire home.
I don’t remember the brand name, but I have several times seen a TV commercial in which a woman is so enamored with a kitchen faucet that she wants an architect to design an entire house around it! We’re not expected to take that seriously, of course, but it really does not seem like too large a leap to think in terms of re-designing one’s home to complement bathroom fixtures as striking as these, because what it does is lead one in a different direction altogether. It is natural; it is organic; and it is wild.
Really, one almost has the feeling of being on an exotic movie set somewhere. At any moment now a gorgeous person (we’ll leave it at non-gender specific, so everyone can join my fantasy!) is going to appear wrapped up in a thick, plush, blindingly-white terry towel. But isn’t that the whole point of a bathroom retreat—making it a room into which to retreat for rejuvenation? And maybe a fantasy or two!

Update: The link we had for the Kudeta site is now broken. I posted a new link to the site in France, but that too has problems. If you can’t find what you need leave us a comment and we will see if we can’t put you in touch with some artisans who can create what you are looking for.
