“Something Useful”

Everdure e Series Barbecues 1 As I made my way around the Internet the other day looking for ideas, one of the things that occurred to me, because of the time of year—and my own yearnings for something off the grill no doubt—was a barbeque. I looked at quite a few before settling on the subject of today’s blog, but the reason I brought that search up was because in one of the blog sites I came across, some lady wrote in response to one of the truly nifty (AKA expensive!) ideas and said, “for gosh’ sake, guys, it’s just throwing meat on a grill; it’s not rocket science!” I seriously think we ought to be permitted to slap people like that!

Barbecuing is really not so much a man thing as it simply is something men like to do. But everyone who eats good barbecue knows why all of us love barbecue so much, and especially this is true when you have any kind of outdoor seating. Some barbecue, some brews, man it doesn’t get any better than that. Except it really does from time to time, which brings us to the Everdure “e” Series Barbecues.

Everdure is an Australian company that has taken the basic barbecue and just turned it on its ear! One of the problems we all encounter if we barbecue, no matter how we try to avoid it, is barbecuing with less than adequate light. Sometimes it’s poor planning; other times it’s just someone stretching out the season, but no matter how it comes about, bad light is bad news. Now they’ve come up with a system with bright halogen lights in the hood that one can use to see the contents without lifting the lid and letting the heat escape.

They actually have a line of barbecues, but I wanted to focus on the e7 because it really is what they say on their website: a quantum leap in design and technology. Really, about the only way I can describe everything this bad boy has is to show their blow-up picture of the components. At first I wasn’t sure what they had in mind with the small hood inside the larger hood, but what that is, really, is a revolution. Using it in conjunction with the barbecue itself, one can cook just about anything you can imagine and a lot of things you never thought you could cook on a barbecue. You even use a wok or cook a pizza! And did I mention that you can use the grill to fry up some eggs, for those who want a late night snack or early breakfast. Truly, it’s an absolutely astounding array of choices. The only way to appreciate it is to go to their website to see their media presentation of the many choices available.

And that brings me back to that lady I mentioned at the start of this blog. So, maybe a no-holds-barred barbecue is not rocket science, but I’ll bet the people who were clever enough to come up with designs like this could have done rocket designs too. They just decided to invent something useful!
