“The Best things in Life”
It’s a simple faucet concept and an even simpler vessel sink, but they create a design element that is stunning, by virtue of both its simplicity and its boldness. It is one of the more imaginative, workable ideas I have yet encountered in these blogs, and one I am delighted to write about because of the many applications for the standard tract-home, cracker-box bathrooms that are the lot of so many of us, including myself.
It’s a postage stamp of a room, this five-by-nine bathroom I must soon remodel, but I talk about it quite a bit, because while looking for something I can add to my own, I may find something those of you with the same dilemma may add to yours. The problem, as I said earlier this week, is that there’s no place to really do anything, to make a statement all your own. In my case, I will have a vanity that is some 31″ wide, and what in the world are you going to do with that!
Well, one of the solutions I have explored quite a bit in these blogs is vessel sinks, especially glass, because vessel sinks come in all sizes and shapes, and just about all of them are beautiful. So that, at some length, is how I encountered Kraus USA, looking for a vessel sink that I could put to use, something different, if it could be done, but something, too, that would occupy a small space, as there is very little room in our bathrooms, and none that is extra!
What I particularly like about this line of sinks is they are both small and colorful and—in their own way—unique. I cannot imagine their not getting more than their share of compliments, were I to install them in a new bathroom.
I rarely talk about price in these blogs because it has a way of changing, but mostly because I am more concerned with the concepts I’ve discovered than I am in what they cost. A thing of beauty is a joy forever, they say, and they’re really right. That being the way of it, and knowing, as we surely must, that a major kitchen and bathroom remodeling will be done only once for the vast majority of us, price becomes to me something less of an issue than it might be to others. Nevertheless, people do have budgets, and when I wax ecstatic about a two or three thousand dollar sink, I know that there are those who will simply look for another sink.
I bring that up because Kraus USA has 
the most reasonable prices I have ever seen on such innovative concepts. None of the sink and faucet combinations I’ve featured here cost most than $700! That’s ONE seven and TWO zeros. And for those with a fear of doing business with an overseas company (I’m speaking to my fellow Americans now), I can say that Kraus USA is located in New York.
I was going to end this with a riff on the line, the best things in life are free, because in some respects it’s true. But one of those free best things is love, which leads to marriage, which leads to things like bathroom remodelings. And that is most definitely not free, but sometimes it can be inexpensive, and always it can be exhilarating. No charge for the exhilaration!

In my opinion the beauty of the small bathroom is that you can make it elegant for less money. I say go for it Joseph and I will help you build your cabinets.
