Glorious Bathrooms Designs by I Conci

“Sweet Dreams”
In the years before they went over to the Dark Side, HGTV used to have a lot of wonderful programs for Home Improvements. Nowadays, of course, they are catering only to the very young, none of whom really has the wherewithal to remodel a home, that sort of thing taking half a lifetime to put together, which tends to make wonder one why in the world any advertiser with a brain that actually works would want to advertise his wares on a channel that is destined to be essentially ignored. I mean, heck, would an appliance manufacturer advertise on MTV? Then why would he advertise on HGTV, because face it, with their spiky-haired hosts, video game graphics, pace, and content, it’s essentially the same sort of program, right? But I’m ranting.
I started to say that in the halcyon days of yore, HGTV had a wonderful program on kitchen design hosted by Joan Kohn, who just struck you as the kind of person you would want designing your kitchen. And she always ended her show with a fantasy kitchen, something she knew her viewers, by and large, would not be able to afford, but it was fun to look at, an item I bring up because today I would like to indulge in a fantasy bathroom. And if it is not a fantasy bathroom for you, it certainly is for me, because no way am I getting this stuff into the five by nine bathrooms I actually have to work with!
I Conci of Italy is a cutting edge designer and manufacturer that specializes in marble. Make that copious amounts of glorious, opulent, gleaming marble. What they have done here seems almost obscene until you start fantasizing about how nice it would be to ease them tired old bones into a tub like this one. Or maybe milady is beginning to breathe a little heavily at the thought of putting on her makeup in front of mirrors like these, surrounded by luxury like this, ensconced in the finest silk whatever-the-heck-the-wife-seems-to-want-to-wear, although in a bathroom like this one it would have to be outrageously elegant, right?
Man, if this bathroom doesn’t have it, you don’t need it. There’s a double vanity in marble in modern sinks that are made without visible drains (I presume the water flows over the bottom into the channels on all four sides and is gathered underneath into the necessary drain, which has been carefully hidden from view). It also has a separate pair of freestanding marble sinks with leathered-covered bases. And they have a matching separate marble tub and shower that has been built into the floor (you have to examine the picture closely to pick up on this) for a seamless, wondrously opulent design touch. And did I mention that every bit of it is made of matching marble?
But all kidding aside, I have to say that I am impressed with both the design and the workmanship of this bathroom. I know it’s a dream for the most of us, but what is life without a dream from time to time?
