“Hi De Ho!”

Cooktop Coverup 4 Cooktop covers by Regina’s Kitchen are one of the more intriguing ideas I’ve come across in my endless odyssey through cyberspace in search of blog ideas. It is a product that will both beautify a kitchen and add to the available counter space.

How many of us have a stovetop that is not quite as presentable as we would like it to be? And, especially, I think, if you have children this is a question that tends to be answered in the negative. Last week’s spaghetti sauce spill may not have gotten cleaned up as promptly-or as thoroughly-as it should have been, and so forth. And then in one of those scenarios that prove the Fates are either malicious or have a warped sense of humor, the doorbell rings, and your mother-in-law pops in for a quick cup of coffee. Sound familiar?

One of the beauties of a stovetop cover-apart from the actual beauty of the item itself-is the fact that you can simply pop it on the stovetop and hide the mess when you’re rushing to get the kitchen presentable for guests. But it also serves a function for those who keep a neat-as-a-pin kitchen.

Cooktop Coverup 3 More and more these days people are using the kitchen as a gathering place. The larger the kitchen, the greater the likelihood that it will be used in this manner, and this is especially true for those who have kitchen islands. Once the cooking is done, though, doesn’t the stovetop tend to get in the way of those kinds of gatherings? But what if it were possible to put something over the stovetop itself and use the space thus created for something a bit more functional? And, on a day to day basis, once the cooking is finished, wouldn’t it be nicer to look at something other than the stovetop? And, really, that is the sort of thinking that caused Regina Husaker to create her line of Cooktop Covers in the first place.

The Cooktop Cover is said to be made of a scratch resistant and stain resistant Armadillo hard coated mirrored top that is virtually shatterproof. They’re specially designed for the wet or humid conditions often found in kitchens and have an interior that is lined with a galvanized steel or aluminum shell. So, they should hold up to the use they’re bound to get in just about anyone’s kitchen. They can hide a mess or add to a counter’s serving space or just add a touch of elegance to a kitchen. Boy, neighbor, Wilson’s got nothing on THIS hidey hole!

We had one of these made and I have to say we love it. As anyone who has ever owned a stainless steel gas range knows, once anything that has spilled has been cooked on you have to remove it with chemicals. If you scrub it, you scratch the stainless steel. Well, chemical removal takes time and is not always convenient, and that is where the cooktop cover comes in. Toss it over the range and you instantly have more counter space and the fact that your kids spilled some soup and then roasted it into something resembling ceramics on your Viking Range is hidden from all.

I love the whole concept of Regina’s Cooktop Coverup and can’t wait to receive the one I ordered. I need the extra serving space and it’s going to be “Perfect” for holiday entertainment.

I LOVE my Cooktop Coverup!! It makes my counter top more spacious and since I leave it on my cooktop all the time, I don’t have to cook as much!!

It does look like an interesting idea for those who don’t cook much. We use our smoothtop electric cooktop several times a day, so these are not quite for everyone.

Have a new Viking electric 36″ 5 burner so I need to know the size[width and length] of Cover.

    Thank-you

How about a modification of this product for electric cook-top ranges? As the burners remain hot for a while after use, some sort of heat retardent would have to be on the underside. Such a cover would also preserve the cook-top as it is easily scratched.

I have a 30″ GE Profile Electric Cook Top. Right behind the cooktop sits a Kenmore Rising Fan Vent.
The whole thing is set in an island covered in man-made Granite-type material. Would I be able to get a cooktop cover to fit as we like to use bar stools around it and are often just looking at the cooktop

We do not sell any of the items we write about. We simply inform the public of what is available. There are hyperlinks in the blog and in the photos we posted. If you click on these, they will take you to the company’s website, and you can direct your questions to them.
