WS Bath Collections 1

“Having Haven”

WS Bath Collections 2 One of my favorite companies to write about is WS Baths in Pennsylvania. I’m rather afraid that their designs are much too large for the small bathrooms that are my fate in life, some kind of bad karma I picked up along life’s way, I suspect, but for those who have the room for it, they have bathroom designs that just absolutely blow my mind.

A bathroom can be so much more than a place to simply clean up in the morning and such. It can be a place to restore one’s soul, one’s psyche, one’s enthusiasm for life. I have read, as I’ve made my way through cyberspace, any number of primeval howls from those who have had to contend with contractors, andWS Bath Collections 3 installers, and kitchen designers and bathroom designers, as people try to remodel their home into something worthy of the expenditure one makes for it, both in money and emotional involvement in so much that is. well, anyone who works for a living knows what I’m talking about.

The world is not pretty at times. We are constantly trying to make a place for ourselves in this world, and all about us we are surrounded with idiots, morons, cheaters, liars, and I don’t know what all. And sometimes, well, sometimes, it just kind of gets to you and you wish for nothing better than escape.

Is that how you’re feeling this morning, Bucky, kind of blue? Then I have a place for you, the bathroom, not just any bathroom, mind, but a luxurious bathroom, one that is intended to bring peace and solace to your soul, whatever you may conceive it to be, and however battered it is WS Bath Collections 4with the vicissitudes of life. And if you’re starting to melt a little as you read these lines, then you should be in the perfect state of mind to contemplate one of my favorite Internet finds, namely, WS Baths.

I first encountered WS Baths some time back when I wrote about one of the most glorious lines of tubs I have ever seen, up to and including, one made of walnut that just about screamed relax-if that’s not a contradiction in terms! “Had I but Room Enough and Time,” I called it, because that pretty much summed up my reaction to what WS Bath had created.

And now they have branched out into bathroom furniture, but, in keeping with a company philosophy that clearly favors the luxurious retreat style that is so near and dear to my harried little heart, they have come up with furniture that is nothing less than stunning. It includes bathroom vanities, washstands, bathroom mirrors, bathroom cabinets, and the like, but much more than that, I think, what they have produced here is, well, if not heaven on earth, then certainly a haven. And haven works.
