Kohler Decorative Bathroom Sinks 4

“Doo, Doo, Doo, Doo”

Kohler Decorative Bathroom Sinks 2 OK, they’re small bathrooms I have to work with, these five-by-nine-foot cells. I actually think prison cells are bigger than that, aren’t they? If so, make ours a monk’s cell. Small, cramped, dingy, still equipped with the original tract home fixtures, oh, they’re not lovely, they really aren’t. But if, when I remodel them, I opt for cheap white porcelain fixtures, what will have changed?

Not very many of us are blessed with an unlimited budget, and especially this is true in a major remodeling project, because those who are wise understand that the starting budget is often just a “low ball” bid for what the final job will cost. If the house is old, the plumbing may need to be replaced. Or there may be dry rot behind the walls or any number of other unexpected problems. And on and on through any number of permutations I could visit, but the bottom line is always how they affect the bottom line.

Kohler Decorative Bathroom Sinks 5 I bring that up, though, because it is sometimes possible to accomplish quite a bit with quite a little, if only we will go to the right places. And more and more, as I make my way through cyberspace, Kohler seems to me to be a “right place,” because they have so much in the way of ideas and these ideas, in turn, are suited to so many different budgets from the fairly pricey to the reasonable to the holy-smokes-how-can-they-do-it-for-that-low-a-price!

Kohler does have a number of quite stunning modern sink designs but because I so often write about the modern in these blogs, I thought I would concentrate on the more traditional today. And, again, as one always finds to be the case with the truly creative among us, Kohler has any number of variations on their designs. Flowers, to take just one motif, are available in any number of permutations on their site, but here I have chosen only two to give some idea as to what is available. There are also an extraordinary number of luxurious designs available, any one of which would bring a welcome air of luxury to the bathrooms in which they reside.

Kohler Decorative Bathroom Sinks 7 In any well-designed bathroom, though, the sink and vanity will be a focal point, and if they are well-designed, the bathroom as a whole takes on an air it would otherwise not have. I know people who absolutely cannot pass up the discontinued item because it comes at a one-time low price, but that sort of thing may not be in our own best interests. All of us like a bargain, but sometimes we can “bargain” ourselves to such an extent that we lose all sight of the original purpose involved in a remodeling.

However busy we may be, the one thing that is certain is that we are in our bathrooms every day of our lives, and if those rooms are standard bland, tract home decor, then that’s the sort of blah with which one’s days begins and ends. Because of that, I very much do not recommend deliberately going in search of only those items that are cheap for a remodeling project. Barring only the occasional unexpected gem of a bargain, whatever you buy that is cheap will, in turn, result in your bathroom looking cheap. But if it’s the tract home most of us have, isn’t that where you started? And if you end up where you began, isn’t that what they call a trip to nowhere? Cue the Twilight Zone theme!
