“It’s Your Thing”

Kaldewei Bathroom Design Ideas 2 Bathrooms have become a kind of salvation these days, a cure for all that ails us, but unlike the elixirs sold from the back of medicine wagons in the Nineteenth Century, this one actually works. It’s our place, our haven, our room away from the world and the cares that attend thereto. And the crowning glory of such a place, the tub, could even help a lot with the divorce rate in this country. Think about that for a moment.

Substance abuse, physical abuse, and adultery are always grounds for divorce, but interestingly enough, over half of all marriages that end in divorce do so because “we just can’t get along.” There are, of course, as many contributing factors to that unhappy statistic as there are troubled marriages, but the one thing that runs common to troubled marriages, I think, is stress, regardless of its origin. Maybe what people need is a way of reliving this stress that does not involve substance abuse or adultery. Hey, what could be wrong with simply soaking in a hot tub? You’re there for twenty or thirty minutes, maybe think out some solutions for whatever problems you may have. So, really, when you think about it, a tub is not at all an extravagance; it’s a marriage saver.

Kaldewei Bathroom Design Ideas 3 And with that we can turn to the subject of today’s blog, because Kaldewei has a line of tubs that are considerably larger and more luxurious than the nondescript tubs that are the bane of so many of us. I have one of the latter in my bathroom, the old shower/tub setup that comes with any tract home, and I cannot think of sitting in it for any length of time. To me the low walls of that tub are just something for this old man to avoid tripping over as he gets in and out of the shower, which is how I always use it.

If a tub is to be a luxurious “home away from home,” it needs to be deep. Kaldewei has this one covered. And then, because they can, and because we want them to, tubs should come with spa jets. I have heard an occasional person who states that he doesn’t care one way or the other, but these people, by and large, are those who have simply never enjoyed the luxury of a spa. It’s like going to Paris, really; after that you will NOT go back to the farm!

Kaldewei Bathroom Design Ideas 6 In the hands of manufacturer like Kaldewei, though, spa jets are just the beginning. One of the ways of introducing relaxation to a weary body is the calming effects of colored lighting. To enhance the calming effects of this lighting all the more, though, Kaldewei has developed an exclusive new lighting concept for the Vivo Turbo and Vivo Turbo Plus Spas: lighted spa jets. Every single spa jet is equipped with the latest in LED technology, and the result is spa jets that cast beautiful light patterns through the water. When the jet pump system is off, the lighting can still be used to create a wonderful ambience.

Finally, there is the elegance of these tubs themselves, as shown by the Ellipso Duo Oval in black which tops this blog. It has a wonderful gently curving, elliptical shape that brings an aura to any room in which it resides that is both extravagant and formal, if that is not too much a contradiction in terms. But what it is, really, is an item of wonderful indulgence.

With such a wide range of luxurious tubs, though, you really can do your thing. Or as the song writer might have said, do what you wanna do; I can’t tell you who to soak it to.

Nice blog there Joseph. Isn’t the marriage-saver version of tubs supposed to be two of them side-by-side in which you and your wife watch the sun set on the ocean?

I have never understood the logic of the side-by-side tub arrangement. That’s like the side-by-side single beds TV married couples were supposed to be using in the 1950s. HAH!
