“Not That There’s Anything Wrong with That”

Allergro Classics Outdoor Furniture 7 My goodness, that was a fast summer! People think I’m kidding, but the truth is that I still haven’t done the Spring maintenance work for our yard, so now I’ll have to roll it up into the winter preparations. Soon the winds will pick up and the rains will begin, and we will hunker down for another winter, the time of year I like least of all. But while it’s still here, I thought it might be fun to give summer one last hurrah, as it were, and what better way to do it than the subject of today’s blog, namely, Allegro Classics.

One of the things I most like about design is, well, design, and I tend to chase that muse wherever it leads, which is to say, mostly to Europe, as so much that is noteworthy is being done there these days. The problem with European design, of course, is that it is in Europe, so whenever I write about those designs, and I often do, I find myself feeling a bit sheepish because how are people going to purchase those things if they’re interested? But that brings me right back to Allegro Classics because, as it turns out, in addition to having some glorious designs in outdAllergro Classics Outdoor Furniture 1oor furniture, they are actually located in my own California and will ship nationwide and beyond (check their site for complete details).

Outdoor furniture should be stylish and durable and beautiful and colorful, which is a pretty fair description of the lines Allegro Classics has, and it is especially true of the dining furniture at the top of this blog. For those who object to the “openness,” I hasten to add that this is mostly, I think, just for a dramatic picture. Allegro Classics has umbrellas available in every size and configuration, so one could easily put one over this table. Durability is something I talk about a lot in my blogs on outdoor furniture, but obligatory maintenance work on my own backyard paradise has spoiled every Spring since I finished that project!

This furniture, by way of decided contrast, doesn’t require much more than an occasional hosing down. The frames are made of aluminum and are covered with Viro, a high density polyethylene fiber that is colored throughout and that has been designed for outdoor applications. The seat cushions are covered with Sunbrella, which is a fabric specifically designestk314102rknd for outdoor applications, including the intense hot sun that is the way of things in states like Florida and California. And I would be remiss if I did not point out that the cushions and bench seats come in an absolute plethora of colors.

The last item that I wanted to show is a day bed to end all day beds, I think. It is an item that I can absolutely never purchase, not because of the price, but because of what it would do to us in the summer months. As it is, I have a very difficult time getting the day going when the wife is here, because it is such a pleasure to just sit on the couch and have coffee with her in the mornings (and this after 34 years!), but if we had something like this, we would absolutely never do a damned thing in the summer months but sit out back and talk and laugh and carry on and laze away the hazy days of summer. Um, actually, now that I think about it, I’m trying to figure out where the bad is in that!

Nice looking furniture, and the view is great! We could use some of those pieces around the pool – if we had a pool. Where in California are they located?

Katsuyo, they are located in Berkeley, CA. Yeah, they do make some beautiful furniture.
