Those of you who watch HGTV know KBIS as the biggest show of its type. There are some 585 exhibitors, and there is just no way that we could see them all and do them justice. But starting next week, and for some time to come, Joe and I will be writing about what we have discovered at KBIS.

Ozzio has focused on optimal uses of spaces, creating products that actually move whenever the user has another use for them. That means a table becomes a console, a chair folds and disappears, a coffee table changes its height whenever it is needed and rolls to wherever it is wanted.

The Solaris by Heat & Glo is the most futuristic fireplace I have ever seen in my life. The Solaris 36-ST is the world’s thinnest see-through fireplace; the Solaris 36-MR is a two-sided fireplace featuring the infinity flame, which provides a 6-foot deep illusion of flame and lighting effects.

The precision, accuracy and superb chromatic sensibility possessed by the artists at Budri are what differentiate their output from that created only in a factory. What I like in the designs we feature here is the wonderful splash of color, the zip, the wow, the man-I’m-blowing-my-mind type thing.
