OLD TIME KITCHEN STOVES

Some of those with second kitchens in this part of the world have those second kitchens in second homes! And if you live in sunny San Diego year round, a second home any place but the mountains near here makes no sense at all.

As we pointed out in yesterday’s blog on kitchen design, there are some very slick commercial stoves, but they don’t really work well in residential settings because they’re too large, too hot (because they are often un-insulated) and, frankly, too expensive.

Well, we started this week by talking about kitchen design, so I thought I’d take that a step further. One of the things I was taught in furniture design was to look at architecture, because so much of the ornamentation in furniture and finish carpentry is really just scaled down versions of architectural design.
