Industrialists feel no obligation to support the society that produces their workforce. The argument from those who won’t tip is, “Hey, I didn’t sign a contract to that effect,” and of course they didn’t. But that’s just sophistry set forth to avoid paying what they know to be their fair share.

I hadn’t been there fifteen minutes when she started asking me if we might not do such-and-such together later that summer, and all of them actual DATES! Later she said that the moment I walked into her apartment, it just felt right to her.

One of the things I’ve always been most thankful for at Thanksgiving is that I have been blessed with family members that genuinely enjoyed getting together for the holidays. I am now 66 years old, and I have been home every year for Thanksgiving, excepting only the three years in the Army.

The other point of difference was when the Thanksgiving meal is served. Her family has always has it for dinner, serving about 6:00. My family always did it at 2:00, which my wife first thought was too early and too strange. Let me tell you what changed her mind.
