In years past I have used the year end blog as a chance to sum up the year that has gone before, and this year will be no different. But even as I say that I know that this year has been profoundly different from those that have gone before.

Industrialists feel no obligation to support the society that produces their workforce. The argument from those who won’t tip is, “Hey, I didn’t sign a contract to that effect,” and of course they didn’t. But that’s just sophistry set forth to avoid paying what they know to be their fair share.

Her “second look” was when I entered her little apartment. I hadn’t been there fifteen minutes when she started asking me if we might not do such-and-such together later that summer, and all of them actual DATES! Later she said that the moment I walked into her apartment, it just felt right to her.
